As a Smartsheet Admin, I would like the ability to impersonate users so that I can test and verify permissions and access so that I can better manage their permissions and access and create a better user experience for my internal clients.

Hello, I am a system admin and would love a way to log in as one of the licensed users on my plan to be able to check their permissions and see what they see, in order to better instruct them and help them navigate Smartsheet.
I agree, but there should be something that is captured if the "admin" does something as the person that does not allow spoofing.
As an admin, when I'm testing out new workflows or other things within RM or Smartsheet, I want to know exactly what users will experience with different permissions and access levels. Right now Smartsheet/RM do not offer this feature, but it would be helpful. I have used this feature in Workfront - link to more information: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/workfront/using/administration-and-setup/add-users/create-manage-users/log-in-as-another-user
As a former Adobe Workfront administrator, I also miss this functionality that enabled technical support. I just logged in to see if this was already entered in the Community. Up-voting now!
It would be very helpful for admins to be able to experience what a user in their organization sees when they login to Smartsheet. This would be helpful for testing as well as troubleshooting.
@mclaugch Not in Smartsheet, but, in another system we have no visibility to ghost in as the End User. Instead we have a robust process that manages Roles and Access. In Smartsheet, we leverage the Group Management and API's to automate End User access which is all internal employees at this time. Using a Python/SQL script, we can pull the metadata into an XLSX on SharePoint. Smartsheet Data Shuttle imports the metadata into a Data Table then connection to a Grid. Requires creating a Primary Key so that the Data Table identifies row additions, deletions and changes. The reason that we do not just navigate straight from Data Shuttle Import for the Grid connection is because the API lacks the ability to capture metadata at the "List Row" level as it does for "List Column".Then, we can generate Sheet Summary and Report Metrics to build a Dashboard for transparency and change events.
Yes! 100% yes! With the new user models, I had to create another account apart from our admin account and my personal account. The lack of admin abilities is slightly off-putting in the admin center in my opinion.
Fully support this, I raised it a while ago in the community discussion to see if there's a way to have a 'test' user to see what the view is for non-editors but gained no progress. It would be especially helpful to ensure all locked columns in update requests stay that way - I've had a LOT of trouble with this NOT working, and as I'm admin I can't actually test it to see if it's working - one shouldn't have to revert to getting non-admin colleagues to test, there should be a function in Smartsheet to be able to do this.
We need the ability to duplicate (copy) an existing dynamic view to other sheets. We use templates and Smartsheet Control center, but when creating a new sheet (using SCC or Save As New) the dynamic view(s) are not also copied/duplicated. This creates a LOT of manual re-work. It'd be great if, from the Dynamic View…
Please add the highlight changes feature to the new Tables view!
I'm proposing an added feature to CANCEL an update request without necessarily deleting it, this way we can maintain the history of requests even when they aren't acted upon by the recipient. Sometimes users elect to update rows in grid view rather than from their emails/notifications, or they'll respond to the 20th update…
