Timeline view

Hi, does anybody knows why i can't have a correct sorting in my swim lanes? (pic 1 app.smartsheet.EU)

I expect to have 01.XXX on top rather that in the middle.

Then in the US environment this was done automatically and i was even able to have colors on the side of the swim lanes. (pic 2)

Thanks to those who can help.

    Hi @David3_DigitalFlows,

I tested this on my end and found that the order of the groups displayed in Timeline View reflects the order of the dropdown options listed in the column properties. This is the case in both the EU and the US instance of Smartsheet.

That is, when I review the column properties of the Parent Task Name dropdown column in Grid or Gantt View, if the “01. XXX” value is listed further down the list, for example between “05. XXX” and “06. XXX”, the timeline view will show the groups in that same order - as seen below:

So, the fix should be to simply re-order the values in the column properties from either Grid or Gantt View - double click the Parent Task Name column header, then remove the “01. XXX” value from its current position and paste it at the top of all values. Then save the sheet before switching back to Timeline View, and you should see the groups in the expected order, as below:

    Hope that helps!

  • Hi @Georgie thanks for your reply.

I indeed realised the issue after a while…it'a bit strange because this is the only feature (at least that i know) where Smartsheet does not sort automatically :)

Yet, although i succeeded in sorting the swimlines as i wanted, in the EU instance I don't get the colors in the side, wich i automatically get in the US instance.

    Have a nice week end.
