Any Updates with Hyperlink

Hello:

I have a form asking users to submit a URL to a document on a shared drive. I can use a cross-reference formula to pull that URL into another sheet (and its still a hyperlink). However, some of these URLs are really long, and I'd prefer putting the URL in a Helper column, then in the "real" column, create a text label (e.g., "Budget") that is converted to a hyperlink using the URL in the Helper column.

I've read through previous posts, and "=HYPERLINK" isn't available yet in Smartsheet. What a great function this would be to have in Smartsheet!

Has anyone found a possible workaround?

You're right—Smartsheet doesn't support the HYPERLINK function yet.

The best approach would be to use the Smartsheet API or the Bridge add-on to automate hyperlink conversion.

I've written myself a report that pulls together fields with links, and periodically run it and add link text to each. :) Rather inelegant, but it's just a data validation/clean-up activity that I do anyways.
