Multiple Line Entries with one Form Submission

As a quick hack, you can also hit the back button in your browser to display the previously submitted form and then make necessary changes for the next row submitted , hit Submit.

Can you post your solution here instead of people needing to email you to get the information? My work email is pretty locked down so that isn't really an option for me.

Hi @Sara Kouba
There's a post in the Best Practice topic that may be what you're looking for: Split Multiple Selections In Single Form Into Individual Rows (Core Product)

Hi -
Our team is using SS to conduct audits. Audits include a documentation review (did we follow a process) as well as a visual audit to based on outputs from the doc review. We'd benefit from having one form populate a row and then activate a second form for follow up with the visual component later in the day.

Hi @Andrée Starå Could you be able to share your solution to my email at daphnezhou@nuralogix.ai, thank you.

this is actually the only solution that works for what I need. I literally just did this (back buttoned the form submission) for 20 different people. My example: We have a form that people fill out when they complete a training. If everyone in my office takes the same course and we just want to give them credit for it without each person having to go in and submit a form, one form that allows me to put multiple names (and creates a different line for each of those names) is needed. The example I can think of is sending an email to multiple people, each email address is separated by a semi-colon, but each individual gets the email individually.
Andres 2 form solution (and perhaps I just don't understand what it is doing) seems to put parent and child lines.

Also interested in the solution mentioned by @Andrée Starå. Would you be willing to post it here or email it to me at melody.kellogg@libraries.ok.gov?

Have a form entry trigger multiple row creation, as needed. For example, the form will have a multiselect field which allows multiple options from a drop-down. The form should create a separate row for each of the entries, with the remainder of the row data based on the remaining form entries.

I hope you are doing well. Would you mind sharing your form solution with me, paul.reeves@hmhco.com? I am very curious how you are keeping or retrieving core information, and using conditional logic.
Thank you,
Paul

This would be a phenomenal feature for those of us looking to use a Smartsheet for collecting things like purchase orders requests. Currently, our users have to submit a form for each item requested, which is highly tedious when a request needs to be made for several items with the same vendor, project code, requestor name and department, end use, etc. Using a workaround to accommodate multiple items also causes challenges for auto-numbering, as there is no way to create only one ID number for a group of such items.
Fast-track this for Gov use, too, please!
Thanks!

I am also interested in the solution suggested by @AndreeStara. We need a form that has fields for all members of the team who need to review a document, and we need each reviewer to populate as a child line. Is this possible, or could it be considered in the road map. If you have suggestions or need more information please contact me @ lbumgarner@rhythmlink.com. Thank you.

This would be a great option. We have providers put in product information, but we'd like to split out each product into a different line w/ the same client infomation, or if they do payment plan, to be able to separate each payment connected to the sale on a different line so payments could be tracked, applied and balanced in the month. Can't wait for this one.

Hello everyone,
It's great to see this feature has been added to the roadmap. In the interim I recorded a video showing how to populate multiple Sheets with a single form entry, hope it helps!

This would be a massive feature update! I gave up with using Smartsheets for my solution and moved to MS Forms. Happy to look at this in SS when it comes available.
