Adding Photos/using Bar Code scanner capability

is it possible when adding photos in the attachments for a row, can the image be a photo scanner capability?

we have equipment that has bar codes on the boxes, instead of taking photos, is there an option for a bar code scanner and upload the information from the bar code ?

or another example - like a VIN tag inside a vehicle, the ability to photo scan the vin and the vin number be uploaded into Smartsheet?

Hi @Amy_D2Install,

If your cell is active (cursor blinking), then you should be able to use the scanner to capture the data. A barcode scanner is another input device like a keyboard.

Photo scanning the vin would require a significant amount more work to program (outside of Smartsheet).

If you are filling out a form on a mobile device, you can use a text/number column. When you select that field to populate, there should be two symbols above the keyboard on the device. One records the gps location and the other is a barcode scanner.
