Hyperlinks No Longer Appearing in Approval Notification Emails

Hi Smartsheet Team,

I’d like to report an issue we started experiencing today with approval notification emails.

Previously, when we included columns with hyperlinks (or added text containing a hyperlink) in the approval notifications, the links appeared correctly as clickable hyperlinks in the email.

However, starting today 04/28/26 (around 16:00 GMT), those same links are no longer displayed as hyperlinks. Instead, they appear as plain text, making them non-clickable for users.

No changes were made to the workflow configuration or the sheet structure on our side, which suggests this may be related to a recent platform change or email rendering behavior.

Could you please help us understand:

* If there has been any recent change affecting hyperlinks in automated emails?
* If this is expected behavior or a known issue?
* Any recommended workaround to ensure links remain clickable in approval notifications?

This functionality is important for our process, as users rely on direct access through these links.

Hi all,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We've determined that hyperlinks not working in notification emails is caused by a bug and our Product team is working on a resolution. We are not able to provide a time-frame on how long the resolution could take but we are doing our best in order to have this fixed as soon as possible.

Same here with Outlook Web, Desktop, Gmail, etc.

Hyperlinks are not working anymore. Something obviously changed!

Can we have an update ?

I'm using desktop Outlook and the hyperlinks still aren't showing up. I also tried sending emails to Gmail and that didn't work either.
