Reminders
New to Smartsheet - I see that a reminder can be set to a maximum of 14 days prior without setting a calendar date. My guess is the 14 day prior will float with a change in the schedule (rain days, etc.). Does the calendar date float as well? If not, how can a reminder be set for more than 14 days & still float?

Hi Ron, when you set a specific date for a reminder, it will not change when a date in your row changes. Heres a workaround for you:
-Add an additional Date column to your sheet (Reminder Date)
-Add a formula to the Reminder Date column that adds X days to the corresponding Date cell (such as your Start or End Date)
-Set reminder for the Reminder Date column
Here is the formula you can use to add 30 days to your Start Date:
=[Start Date]1 + 30

Never mind, I got it. When yolu set up a Date column, the column is shown in the Reminders window. Thanks.

Seems as though I don't have it after all. I don't understand the formula and how that would trigger an Alert. Your help is appreciated.

Based on your last question of "If not, how can a reminder be set for more than 14 days & still float?", Travis gave you the formula to add 30 days to the Start date.
That means if the Start Date is 10/1/15, the Reminder DAte is +30 days or 10/31/15.
So then you would then create a Reminder alert for the Reminder Date column to occur "on" the Reminder Date, 10/31/15. Thus allowing you to set a reminder more than 30 days out.

Thanks. Would the Reminder Date then float with changes in the schedule or be fixed at that date rather that with the typical reminders of up to 14 days.

Ron, yes the Reminder Date will float when changes are made. The formula I provided will add 30 days to the corresponding Start Date date - no matter what that date is or it if is changed. It might make more sense if you add this to your sheet and play around with changing the Start Date.
