Creating Tasks and Subtasks in Smartsheet to Jira

I am currently working on a project where we would like to set up a template of tickets to log into Jira and am using the Jira connector to push from Smartsheet to Jira.

We have figured out how to do the intial ticket but when we try to use the type of subtask, we get the following error:

Invalid response from JIRA. statusCode: 400, reasonPhrase: Bad Request Issue type is a sub-task but parent issue key or id not specified.

We would like to be able to create the subtasks as well as the task but cannot figure out how to get the Parentissuekey in there. It does not seem to be a field that we can sync.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as we are new to the Jira connector.

That error is coming from Jira rather than the Smartsheet connector. For a sub-task to be created, Jira requires a valid Parent Issue Key or Parent Issue ID. If the connector doesn't expose that field for mapping, you may need to create the parent issue first and then use a separate workflow or integration step to create the sub-tasks linked to it.

You may also want to verify whether your Jira Connector version supports sub-task creation, as there can be some limitations depending on the configuration.
