How to add teams channel to my automation

I'm trying to set up an automation in Smartsheet that connects to Microsoft Teams, but I'm not sure how to configure it. I'd like the automation to send a notification or message to a specific Teams channel when a certain condition is met in my sheet (for example, when a row's status changes or a date is reached).

Could someone walk me through how to:

• Connect Microsoft Teams to my Smartsheet account as an integration
• Set up an automated workflow that triggers a message to Teams
• Choose which Teams channel the notifications get sent to
• Customize what information from the row gets included in the message

Any step-by-step guidance or links to documentation would be much appreciated. Thanks!

The native Teams integration is configured at the automation level, not in your account settings.

1. Open your sheet and go to Automations > Create Workflow
2. Set your trigger, for example "When Status changes to Complete"
3. Add a "Send Notification" action step
4. In the action dropdown, Teams should appear as a destination channel option
5. Choose your Teams channel and configure the message

Note: this option is available on Business and Enterprise plans. If you do not see Teams in the action dropdown, your plan may not include it. In that case, third party automation tools can also be used to achieve the same integration with greater flexibility and message customisation.
