Automation not triggering

Question

Good afternoon. I am trying to create an update request to have contacts in a cell complete a voting task. I have been asking the AI what the issue is and it had good suggestions, everything it suggests is occurring on the sheet.

The update request is to trigger when the "Launch update request" changes to checked. It will only run if the "Department Completion" is blank. The message contains {{}} to pull in information from the sheet right into the message. I have only selected a few of the cells to be updated. I also tried changing the condition to a different cell

I can force the automation to run on the selected cells, but for the life of me can not get this to run on its own. There has to be something that I am overlooking here.

When you are testing this, are you listing yourself in the recipient column? If so, check your personal settings and make sure the box is checked to include your own changes in automations.

@C.Beaudoin I don't think curly brackets in the message body works in an update request. You can 100% use them in the subject line, but all of these fields will need to be pulled from the sheet directly, not in curly brackets.
