I’m experiencing an issue with duplicate row copies in sheets where an automation copies rows from a source sheet to a destination sheet.
The source sheet is used solely for collecting information through a form. Whenever a new row is added, an automation copies it to the destination sheet, where it is then monitored and managed.
This setup has been working reliably for several years across multiple sheets. However, over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed that in three different solutions, the automation has unexpectedly copied a random number of existing rows from the source sheet to the destination sheet — anywhere from a few rows to more than 60.
This has happened several times and independently across at least three different source/destination sheet setups. There was:
- no apparent trigger for the additional copies,
- no activity in the source sheets,
- and no obvious connection to any changes or updates made by users.
The regular automation itself continues to work correctly — the issue is that, from time to time, it appears to re-copy a number of previously copied rows.
Has anyone experienced anything similar recently? Could this be related to a change or issue on the Smartsheet automation side?
Any ideas or suggestions on how to investigate this would be greatly appreciated.
