Background: I have a large notification system setup requesting updates or informing users. I can have up to 11 different groups (contact columns) to inform per row, and within each group the specific message can change depending on the status of other columns in the row. I cannot combine the contact columns because I need to record an update from each group separately.
Pain Point: If I want to tweak the notification message I have a massive number of updates to do. Even copy/pasting the text into each automation takes up to 1/2 hour to make one word change. I need a way to consolidate the message.
Attempted Workaround: I hit on the idea that if I could put the text into a cell I could reference this cell across the different groups. This way instead of updating the message 11 times I could update it once for all the groups. I tried creating a new column and copy/pasting the message body, which contains double bracket {{…}} references. Then in my automation I called that column using a double bracket {{…}}. Reviewing the resulting email: Although the text loads into the automation with formatting intact the email body does not populate the double brackets.
Here is the resulting email from my attempted workaround:
Proposed Solution: Enable double bracket references inside a text column to properly pull in the referenced cell values.
