I have a formula counting the last 8 numbers in a row. I have hovered over the cell and can't find the formula to copy it to another line
what am I doing wrong?

Is the cell in question selected? A cell must be selected in order for the formula to be displayed when you hover over the cell.
There are several methods you can use to copy and paste formula including double clicking inside the cell to see the formula. See this article for more details: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/518318-using-copy-paste
