Does anyone know if there is a way to produce a report or a list of rows whereby Column A has changed in the last n number of days? I'm trying to produce an exec level weekly report of key projects whose end dates that have changed in the last week.
You would need to include a date type column where users can enter the date that they changed the data in Column A. If Column A is the only column that would be changing once a row is put into place, you could use a system generated Modified (date) type column.
Unfortunately though, if there are other columns in the row changing, the changes would have to be manually date stamped as there is no feature (yet) that allows for an automatic date and/or time stamp of a specific action.
Thank you, Paul. We are playing around with using the sys gen mod date field but as you pointed out, many other columns on the row can also be changed.
You may be able to use a 3rd party app such as Zapier or possibly the Smartsheet API to pull the date/time stamp for a specific action within a set column, but otherwise since multiple cells within the row are changing, you would need to have users manually enter the date/time of the change.
I am not very familiar with the API (at all). I do know though that Zapier links to Smartsheet very easily. I am not sure of exactly the setup you would need within Zapier to accomplish this, but it is generally pretty user friendly.
