I am creating a client survey in smartsheet and one of my questions askes the client to "Check all that apply" so there would likely be multiple answers. I have a dropdown in the column with the options however I don't know how to set the format for them to select more than one.
Can you help?
The dropdown on the sheet does not have multi-select capability, so the form can't either.
This feature has been on the enhance request list for years....
Ah man! Ok, thanks for the info!
Assume you wanted to get info on their top three picks. Take your existing column with the drop down list and duplicate it 2x more, then use the radio button or drop down gizmo to get responses to each. Ask them Top Pick 1, Top Pick 2, Top Pick 3.
Add one final column called "Responses" and use the <concatenate> function to join the responses in your three columns into one. There is a formula refrence sheet on the system. Go to templates and search for "formulas" to pull it up.
Hi Elizabeth and Jeremy,
Good news! It's coming!
Hi everyone,
I'm pleased to announce that the Multi Select Dropdown project is in development.
The functionality Robert Meisch mentioned above (dynamically populate a drop down list from a selected range in a sheet?) is in early stages of research and we're hoping to have that out this year.
Thank you for the passion, and thanks for the patience.
Kara
Hope that helps!
Have a fantastic weekend!
Best,
