Hi I would like smartsheet to make web forms ADA accesible for people who are blind or hard of seeing and any other visual or auditory disabilities.
make them compatible with JAWS program
Just to make a clarification here, SmartSheet forms and any communications should meet at a minimum the WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines (https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG21/). These Web Content Accessibility Guidelines are specifically listed as required in various legislation, including Section 508 (USA) and the AODA (CA). In those two laws, IT products that fail to meet the standard cannot be used without facing fines or other legal punishment.
Some of these requirements would entail giving greater control of the look and feel of the forms (CSS and some HTML customization) and emails that are sent.
YES! April 24th, 2026 is the deadline for all government agencies to get ALL public facing Forms, documents, websites WCAG 2.1 AA compliant.
We have very minimal control of how compliant Smartsheet forms, published sheets/reports/dashboards WorkApps. If Smartsheet doesn't do it automatically on the back end, or give us options that enable us to do it ourselves, then we must publish those items using another service or be subject to lawsuits, fines, etc.
Regarding Forms: I found this link about forms, but it doesn't have any details about tasks that the publisher must follow in order to ensure it remains compliant: https://www.smartsheet.com/content-center/product-news/release-notes/accessibility-forms
We also need to ensure that the following also meet WCAG 2.1 AA requirements:
