My primary column contains numbers (1 to 250 and growing). When I sort I get the 200's first going up then the 100's. They are numbers as near as I can tell and not text. If I use the add/remove decimal places tool they respond properly? What am I overlooking?
Hello Bill,
This behavior is caused by either numbers being treated as text, or a descending sort (instead of an ascending sort).
Even if most of your numbers are responding to the decimal place buttons in the left toolbar, I'd recommend placing a filter on your primary column that only displays what isn't a number so that you can edit as needed.
Thanks, I just discovered that if you enter 007 it forces it to be text and not a number.
Because that is James Bond's License to Kill number, obviously.
I just tested
05
06
007
05.5
all are entered as text.
At least in the sheet I was using.
Do you have 006 as a number?
