Row Deletion Control
Owners/Admins need to have the ability to restrict the deletion of rows whether it be through not allowing editors to delete a row with a locked column or the outright ability to restrict users from deleting ANY row.
This kind of issue makes it difficult to use Smartsheet as a source of truth. It also seems like a fairly basic security feature.
Re: Select specific person/email as the name for automated alerts
Hi @Genevieve P. ,
Our team is still looking for the same updates that Sophie C. and Katheride mentioned.
1) We need the ability to specify what email address an automated email comes from.
2) The email headers still include a Reply-To field for the sheet owner, but we would like it to be updated to the user the email address that we choose instead.
Can you let us know if there's been any updates towards this?
Re: Select specific person/email as the name for automated alerts
Completely agree. Reply-to should be customizable in the workflow alert. As the Control Center program owner, I get tons of replies to project automations for projects I have nothing to do with other than managing the underlying templates and provisioning.
Re: Please enhance Column Contacts and Form Contacts by allowing Groups to be used!
This is basic User Management need. Drop down selections for contacts should be tied to groups so that when I add a user to a group, they automatically become an option for a particular drop down (role). Immensely useful to avoid manual work and isn't that what Smartsheet is about?
Re: Please enhance Column Contacts and Form Contacts by allowing Groups to be used!
Hi,
I want to add Group of contact into Assigned To column,
Dynamic View Comments notifications for user without access to source sheet
Unfortunately, because Dynamic view does not support @mention for users not shared with the source sheet, this means that my 700+ users have to revert to email.
Is there a timeline for this feature to be added?
Thanks
Re: Combine Contacts from multiple columns into a single cell
I have wished for this feature for a long time, but my current use case would see so much benefit that I had to post it:
I'm developing a Control Center blueprint for a project toolkit that will be used for thousands of projects every year, so scalability is key. In order to give visibility of the right projects to all the potential resources assigned, as well as to their multiple layers of management, I'm having to use 38 contact columns to gather the contacts with formulas, 38 report filters set to Current User, and 38 metadata fields to sync these resources everywhere they need visibility across the toolkit.
If a formula could combine contacts into a single field, I could accomplish this task with just 2 columns/fields - the savings in my time and in cell linkages and cross sheet references weighing down sheets would be immense. Please add this to the roadmap!
Re: Share Data Shuttle Workflows
This is a highly needed request. We found a workaround to use a service account for creating our Data Shuttle workflows, but still have to manage access and passwords every time someone who has the account information leaves. The Service account option is not a secure option for us.
Date format: DD-MMM-YY
it would be helpful to have the date format of DD-MMM-YY (i.e. 03-Apr-24) added to the selections available.
Allowing vertical text in both the column name area and the cells.
This is one thing I miss when using Smartsheet compared to Excel.
