How is # used in a formula?

I have a smartsheet that was not designed by me but need to manage the sheet.

I have the following formula that takes a value in May-2022 and in %Util to produce a new value as a %. I don't understand what # does at the end of the formula?

=[May-2022]@row / ([%Util]@row * [May-2022]#)

The # means that it's a reference to a Sheet Summary field.
