Nested CountIf statement help needed
Hi,
I need to create a formula where if a box is checked in one column, a figure in another column gets included in a sum in another cell at the bottom of the column with the numeric value.
This is what I've got, but I'm getting error messages: =COUNTIF(QTR:QTR, "True", SUM(Blackline:Blackline))
I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing wrong, hoping someone can help.
Thanks so much!

Try "Yes" instead of "True"
Also, if your sum is in the Blackline column, the sum will try to include itself, and that is circular.
Some ways to solve this would be:
1. Put it in another column.
2. Use an explicit range to sum
3. Make the rows in question a child of some parent row, and use Children(of the parent) to refer to the cells in question.

Thank you!
