I was just thinking of a comment I wanted to make to someone since it wasn't directly related to the post I was commenting in. I could not find a way to direct message someone, even though we have an inbox.
If I see that someone has asked or answered a similar question or issue I'm trying to solve, it could be helpful to reach out to them directly. They might not pay attention to their old posts, but a direct message might call their attention to it without bumping an old thread up in the discussion forum.
