Having calendar view pull from today's date

Created a report to reflect the calendar view of a sheet and the oldest date is being shown instead of today's date. How can I make the today date be the default?

I added the following formula into the sheet but isn't working: =DATE(YEAR(TODAY()), MONTH(TODAY()), 1)

Unfortunately Gantt view is the only one that has the option to "Open to Today's Date".

Feel free to browse the product enhancement request area to see if someone else has submitted the idea to include this option in Calendar view. If they have, you can vote on it. If they have not, you can submit the idea yourself which will allow others to vote on it.
