Is there a way to create new lines on smartsheet based on a comment created on another sheet?

We have a requirement to keep an audit record of comments being created so we can track the issue.

Bascially if anyone adds a comment to a row on sheet1, we want that comment and sheet name logged in another sheet.

Is this possible?

There's actually a newer feature called “Latest Comment”. Just create a new column, and choose the “Latest Comment” column type. More on that here. https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/2482475-latest-comment-column#:~:text=On%20the%20toolbar%2C%20select%20Insert,the%20popup%2C%20select%20Latest%20comment.

After that you could create an automation in your source grid (where the comment was made) to Copy the row to another grid upon the trigger of “when rows are added or chagned”, and you can select the “Latest Comment” field changes to “Any value”. Then under the Select Action section, you would choose Copy Row, and then select which grid to copy to.
