Is it possible to show the grouping header on a report if I hide the primary column?

When I hide the primary column, the grouping still works, but I don't see the name of the group.

Currently the Grouping value is displayed only in the primary column, as you've found. There isn't a way to decide what column that shows up in. See: Configure grouping to organize results in report builder
