Using Conditions in Workflow to alert when quantity doesn't match

Hi all,

I am trying to figure out how to set a workflow to alert a contact in a contact cell when a "qty recd is less than "qty on order". Ideally I would love an email to kick out that says Your qty rec'd is less that qty on order, but I cant seem to figure out how to finagle the workflow. Under conditions I have selected "Where QTY RECD is LESS THAN, but it makes me enter a value. Is there a way to create a workflow that kicks out this email when qty recd is less than qty on order? Or do I need to create a hidden column that has some formulas and set it to say if "this column" is more than 1. send this email? ideas?

You would need the helper column. I generally use a checkbox column for something like this with a straightforward IF statement to check the box when the one is less than the other. You can then set up your automation to run based on the box being checked.
