Looking for workaround when grouping in Reports so that Primary Column does not display on a Chart.

Apparently it is expected behavior in a Report when using grouping to have the primary column automatically moved to the far left. The problem with this is that when I try to use this report to show data on a chart in a Dashboard, it shows the Primary Column titles as the Horizontal Axis. If I deselect "Use first column as series labels" it does not display the chart correctly and there are no horizontal labels. The dropdown for the Columns Included in the chart are limited and does not display the column that I want to be displayed on the Horizontal Axis. Has anyone found a workaround for this?

Hi Andrea, I’ve just built my own metrics sheet to replace the counts/sums in the report. Then created the graph from that. That may not work in your case though if you’re rolling up many sheets.

Thank you! I was able to create a metrics sheet and use the column headers as the independent variables on the x-axis. The charts widget on the dashboard are very touchy.
