How can I connect project names to a project #?

I am looking for a better way besides individually making automations. That allows me to connect multiple project names using a drop-down list to a specific project number.

We have assigned project numbers to our projects. When I submit a project by its name, I need Smartsheet's to enter the project number from the project name.
