When a cell value changes, capture the contact name of who modified the cell value. This would be much similar to the record a date when cell value changes automation.
Can you clarify how this would be different from the Modified By system column? Do you mean a static value based on only one cell change, versus any change in the row?
I hope you're well and safe!
Here's a possible workaround or workarounds
Please have a look at my post below with a method I developed.
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic week!

I echoe @Joe_AM 's need. I have a sheet that serves as a Strategic Plan base in which weekly status updates are to be provided by the manager. I had hoped to use the Modified by and Modified system fields to capture the date and time in which the Project Update was provided and then copy the row to a log that would store all the historical updates. I created a Submitted checkbox to serve as the trigger. Unfortunately, since the automation is the last action performed on the row, it captures [email protected] instead of retaining the current user who modified the row prior to triggering the automation.

It would be great to be able to select a workspace as the template source folder while setting up a blueprint in Control Center. Currently you have to select a folder in a specific workspace. This change would eliminate the initial folder created at the workspace level, and would allow the end user to have all the template…
Currently, when cell links are created, the updates have to originate from the source cell, and then propagate through the subsequent links. Particularly in a Control Center setup, you can have 3 or more sheets that link (from the intake sheet, to a metadata sheet and then to the project plan, is one example). As an…
Currently, if you set up a sync between Smartsheet and Resource Management, you can only detach the integration from the Smartsheet side. I have an instance whereby the Smartsheet project has been deleted and can no longer be restored. In Resource Management, the corresponding project still shows a link to Smartsheet (if…
