Pull in "Features" with a "Priority = 1" into a Master Sheet
Hi there, I have a Smartsheet problem I am having a hard time figuring out a plan for...
Essentially, my Product Owner has 2 different backlog sheets she likes to keep, let's call them:
-Backlog A
-Backlog B
Now, what my Product Owner wants to do is create a "Master Sheet" wherein she can pull in features from both Backlog A & B that have a "Priority = 1".
My first thought was to use a report to easily visualize the "1's" from both sheets. The issue is you cannot edit the text of the report and my Product Owner wants to be able to add additional columns like risk, due date, launch date, etc. to this "Master Sheet". In other words, she wants to add extra columns to the "Master Sheet" that are not present in either Backlog A or B.
So the direct question:
- How can I get features with a priority of "1" from two different sheets to pull into a master sheet? I.e. I need all the "1's" from Backlog A & B to flow into a master sheet (automatically).
Thank you,
Ian

Hi @Ian Herzing
I hope you're well and safe!
You could use cross-sheet formulas combined with either a VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH structure to connect the sheets, and when you update the source sheet, it will reflect on the destination sheet.
To connect them row by row, you could use an Autonumber Column in the Source sheet and add a so-called helper column to manually add the row id on as many rows as you need in the Destination sheet.
In your case, you'd have to have two sections in the Destination sheet. One collecting from the first and one for the second sheet.
It could be something like:
Sheet 1: A1,A2,A3
Sheet 2: B1,B2,B3
Make sense?
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic weekend!
