Set Formula Column to Inform Dropdown Column
Hey, gang! I'm trying to find a way to make a Formula column inform a Dropdown column.
I know formulas can't be used in Dropdowns, so I've created both columns within a sheet. Now I'm just hoping there's a way to automate the dropdown selection based on the formula query beside it.
This is all designed so that the company's owner has a quick Card View of what the team's doing This Week, Next Week, and In Three Weeks.
Currently, I manually update the To Do (dropdown). Is there a way to automate this? Thanks so much!

Hello @Laurin can you give a little more context of how you want it to work?

Hi @Laurin
I hope you're well and safe!
You could use Workflows combined with the change a cell Action to change the values automatically without any formulas.
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic week!

Thanks for the quick reply, @Eric Law !
Ideally, whatever appears in the Do Formula column would automatically inform the selected item in the To Do dropdown. (Currently, I manually update it, but I'd prefer not to and have it done in real-time as dates shift.)
Does that make sense? I realize this is kind of a weird ask. Just trying to solve for the inability to use formulas in dropdowns and dropdowns being required to populate Card View lanes. Thanks for your help!
And @Andrée Starå thank you, but workflows don't seem to be working with the owner's single license instance of SS.

Hello @Laurin
All licenses should have automated workflow, except for the free version. Also, you SHOULD still be able to do formulas in dropdowns, if you are an admin or owner of the sheet.

Interesting - while I'm helping him with this project, I'm logging in with his licensed account (so he's the owner/admin of the sheet.) I don't see a way to apply the formula to the dropdown, but will try exploring workflows again.Last time I tried it said I needed to upgrade the account. Thanks for the info and guidance, guys!
