Project Task Completion - Complete and Remaining Pie Chart
Hi Smartsheet Team,
a. Can you tell me how I can make the following Project Task Completion chart? In the Smartsheet, what column or tasks do I have to select to make this chart?
I also want to ask if I post something here but then I find the solution and want to cancel my post. Do you know where I can delete the post?

You would need to have those percentages calculated somewhere. I typically use a separate Metrics sheet to compile all of the data I want displayed on the dashboard.
You can flag your own post and request that the Admin delete it, but instead of doing that...
Post your solution or a link to the other thread containing the solution and flag it as the Accepted Answer. This way anyone else having the same issue can quickly and easily find a solution.

Hi Paul,
This is the project plan template. What information should I highlight in order to get the Project task completion pile chart? Please advise
-
To get the actual % Complete, you would average the % Complete column. Then the remaining would be 1 minus the actual.

Hi Paul,
Thank you for your response. I made it. However, I want to change the legend from % complete to Complete. If I don't want to change % complete in my project plan but only change it in the legend. Do you know how to do it?
Thanks!

The legend depends on how you have the data structured that you are charting. Are you able to show exactly what you are using to create the chart?

Yes..in my smartsheet the column i have is "% complete" but when go to chart legend, i want to change it just "complete". Is it possible to amend it?
-
You would have to change the column name.
-
So I have to change the column name in my project plan (data origin) in order to reflect my dashboard legend's name. I can't change the legend's name itself without going back to update the name from the data origin, right?

I usually use a separate metrics sheet to run all my calculations for my dashboard. That way I can structure and label things appropriately without having to alter the actual project plan.

Ah, got it.. thanks Paul. 😃
