Trainng Matrix for CPD (continuous professional development)
I'm looking for either a sheet or template set to keep track of 15 staff CPD courses.
There are 10 sections they must complete over the year and a minimum time requirement. I had set up a sheet where multiple contacts can be against each course but I now realise this makes getting the summay information I need a little difficult. Is there a template or set made that I could adapt to keep a track of multiple courses over a year for multiple people all of whom can do some or all courses and them a report that shows what each team member has done and needs to do?

Does everyone need to do all courses, or do you need to be able to specify which courses someone needs to take and then track their status against each?

Hi @PaulNewcome, Every one needs to do at least one of the 10, however, multiple courses are offered covering each of the 10, hence the need to have a report that tells me who is missing what. I'll be honest I was surprised there wasn't something there as most professions need to complete CPD - doctors, architects etc. Any advise is most appreciated as I am still getting my head around Smartsheet - only used it for a matter of weeks and I am the first in the company to do so, meaning I feel a bit out of my depth at times.....

Yes, you can remove/hide all that doesn't make sense for your need, but be careful because sometimes things can be connected, so you might break a formula or similar.

Is it possible they could be taking multiple courses for just one of the 10 sections?
What I was thinking was (very basic outline) 21 columns. Name in first column then start and end date columns for each section. If you need to track which course they are taking for the section, then you would have 10 more columns to record the course. This is under the assumption that you only need to track one course per section per person.
Of course additional pieces could be added to use formulas to show things like which section doesn't have a start date (not started), has a start but no end (in progress), and has an end date (completed), and many other different metrics.
Or am I underthinking it?
