Update bulk dashboard widget - links
Hi guys,
We have a dashboard template that includes a few widgets that take our clients to parts of our website. We just updated our website, so now the links are going to the wrong places.
We have around 1000 dashboards that were all created from our template. Each dashboard was then attached to a sheet, so when a client logs in they have 1 sheet and 1 dashboard.
I can easily update the widgets in in the template so that all dashboards going forwards have the right links. Is there a code or way to update the links in the existing dashboards? We've made bulk changes to text in all 1000 sheets before but our IT guy moved on, so I don't have the coding.
Would absolutely appreciate any insight/ideas you have.

Did you use Control Center to roll everything out, or is it a "save as new" type of process?

Hi @Cazza2
I hope you're well and safe!
Did you provision them through Control Center? If yes, you could maybe do Global Updates to update them.
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic week!

@Andrée Starå @Paul Newcome ...we did 'save as new' from the template... does that make it achievable or impossible? Haha
-
@Cazza2 It doesn't make it impossible, but it certainly makes it tedious and painful. It is going to be a manual process unless you can find someone that is able to write an API for it.

Ah, that's not great :( I was a little hopeful as we had a guy create a code to make bulk changes to our 'save as new' sheets. I was hoping we could do the same with dashboard. I'm glad I asked anyway, thank you so much!

It can be done with code as long as you have someone that can write it.
