Dashboard widget - Can I set which rows are displayed?

I have a dashboard that is used for monthly reporting, part of the dashboard links to the project plan. When you open the dashboard this always shows the top few rows of the plan. As the project is now advanced these rows have long since been completed - Can I set the widget to display the currently active tasks at first glance (without needing to scroll down the widget manually).

Ah, yes, that makes sense - create a report to show what I want then link to that report rather than the original plan.
