How can I get Smartsheet to populate the profile image from someone's email address?

What I would like to accomplish is this:

Column A: I have a list of valid email addresses.

Column B: I would like to have the contact's profile picture populate based on the valid email address.

Ultimately, I will have this converted to card view so that all of my prospect's information can be shown via the card view. If they don't have a profile pick for their outlook or Gmail account, I understand that it may be blank which is fine.

I just checked the API documentation, and it doesn't look like you can pull the picture (which in turn means you can't place it either). Looks like we are stuck with a manual process.

If you attach someone's photo in a cell in a "photo" column, you can have their email right next to it, then use a metric widget on a dashboard to pull that info in.

You could also use that central sheet to cell link out to other locations you want the image and email to be, or use Formulas to collect the data. Doesn't sound exactly what you're looking for, but it might be a starting point.

@Tim C Right. But it's still a manual process to get the image in the cell. Also keep in mind... If you use a formula such as INDEX/MATCH or VLOOKUP to try to pull an image, the formula is going to only output the title of the image and not the image itself.

Thanks Paul, you're right the formula will only populate the image link. The cell linking will pull the actual image over though. Thanks for the correction on the formula piece. 👍

@Tim C Yes. Cell linking still works, but in my opinion, that is pretty much the same as manual. Sure... When you update the image in the original cell, you won't have to update it in the linked cells, but if you want to change whose picture is being pulled in, you have to manually recreate the cell link. It does work. It's just not anywhere near user friendly.
