Count multiple criteria

I'm looking for a formula to count a single criteria from one cross sheet column and multiple criteria from another column. Any suggestions?

=COUNTIFS({My Sheet - Status}, "New Request"), {My Sheet - Unit}, OR(@cell = "Library", @cell = "MGEN", @cell="NuRes", @cell="OARS", @cell="ODEI", @cell="OTP", @cell="Registrar", @cell="UDS", @cell="Other")

Try moving the closing parenthesis from after "New Request" to the very end of the formula.
