% Completed on a Project and excluding some tasks

Is there a way to calculate the percentage completed on a series of tasks yet strike out and leave some tasks that will not be worked on but need to leave there for reference. We just want to make sure that it is not counted as part of the calculation of the project % completed. Example:

If your percentage completion column is part of project setting, I think the only option is to make the striked out tasks to 100% as well.

If it's not part of project setting, you can use the below formula to your parent row to make it work. The striked out tasks should be empty instead of 0%.

=AVG(CHILDREN())
