is there a way to select specific columns from a sheet for a metric widget?

my columns aren't right next to each other and i don't want to select unnecessary columns.

Are you able to provide screenshots for context? It isn't possible to select an entire column for a metrics widget.

Or do you mean two cells that are in different columns? If that is the case, you have two options, you can either select the first cell then hold down Ctrl and select the second cell, or you can add the first cell then edit the widget to add data and then select the second cell. As long as they are on the same sheet, it will show both in the widget.
