How to track trend of my commits for the tasks?

Hey, I would like to check if there is any way to track trends of my commits for particular tasks? Example:

My commit for the task is 11/01/2023, tomorrow it gets 11/04/2023, then few changes through the month and finally smartsheet at the end of the months shows that my current commit is 11/12/2023. I would like to place a formula or use any other method that would enable me to see my '4 weeks trend' in a cell. That would be 11/12/2023 - 11/01/2023 = 10 days or 'Commit Delayed'

I am open to any vlookups, data shuttle methods etc.

@Artur Pawlicki I am a little confused of what you are trying to say. You didn't refer to any of the columns in your sheet so not really sure how to reference anything. Also, could you provide an example of what you want it to show in the 4 week trend column?

  • @Eric Law sure. Let's say I am changing my commits (Committed Finish Date) few times per month and finally at the end of the month (my setup) I have date X. I would like my column '4 weeks trend' to calculate trend each 4 weeks from column called 'Committed Finish Date' and say: Improvement, Delay or whatsoever. It can be even a number, like : +20 days or -5 days.

@Artur Pawlicki I apologize, but I am still confused... What do you mean by 4 Week Trend? Can you provide an example, like a solid example of what you need things to say. For instance, if the commit day is 10/05/23, what should it say in the 4 week trend? Also, give examples of the other types as well. I can help with the formulas, but I don't really understand every industries terminologies.

  • no worries. column called '4 weeks trend' should compare current date vs date recorded 4 weeks ago. And I would like to run this comparison each 4 weeks or 30 days or 1 month - I am open to what is feasible :)

let's say that C04 test run is scheduled on 04/08/24 (Committed Finish Date column) and within next 4 weeks/one month or 30 days (you name it) I receive comparison that exactly 30 days go there was 04/08/24 commit while now my current commit is 04/28/2024 which gives me a communicate in column '4 weeks trend'. and I am open to any type of it. It can be: 'commit delayed by 20 days' or '20 days delay' or 'delay'

I'm looking for the same sort of data capture - @Artur Pawlicki did you ever get a response or figure out how to do this?
