Centering Symbol

Hello,

I've added a symbol column and am wondering if it's possible to center the symbol in the cell/column. I could swear it was centered and then started appearing as left justified. I tried the normal approach of centering the data but it remains on the left side.

This has changed on all our sheets too, any symbol columns have now changed to left alignment even though centre alignment is selected!

I can replicate what you're both seeing: my symbols are left-aligned instead of centred. Thank you for posting and letting us know!

I've checked in with our Support department and they received other reports of this as well - we're investigating if this is expected or not and I'll follow up here when I have more information.

Also came here to post this - we roll up this metric into several dashboards so having them misaligned is not ideal. Any idea if it's a quick fix?

@Genevieve P. I still have the same problem :( When I insert a row, all my colums that are Centred are disaligned (See below)

Are you able to fix this by highlighting the column then adjusting the formatting?

If you click on that one cell, do you see the right-aligned paragraph formatting on the cell? Like so:

@Genevieve P. I can fix it by highlighting the colum then adjust the formating but each time we add a new row the problem is back for all symbols columns in the sheet.

See below : row 10 is the original row. I copy paste this row and the new row is row 9. You can see that both symbols columns lost the center alingment. Same problem is happening if I insert a new row (not copy paste)

I have to admit I haven't seen that before! And I'm unable to replicate what you're describing. I notice other elements on the row are right-aligned as well (the "20" in the cell next to it). Could you try highlighting a number of rows (by clicking the row numbers) and adjust the formatting that way? And/or highlighting all column names in the sheet to apply center alignment?

If this still hasn't fixed it, I would recommend reaching out to Smartsheet Support with a screen recording and the sheet URL.

@Genevieve P. Hi Genevieve, I can't apply center alignment by row as some columns are not supposed to be centered. Same for select all column names to apply center alignment :( I'll reach out to Smartsheet support as you suggest. Thank you for your help
