Autofill data from another sheet

Hello,

I am trying to autofill the instructor number from another sheet based on the assigned instructor on the calendar sheet. In the screenshot example: I want "InstA - Code" to autofill with the corresponding number for the name entered in "InstA - Name". "InstA - Code" value should be pulled from another sheet. Is VLOOKUP the correct formula to use? I've tried multiple times but keeps coming back with invalid data.

Hello @Mandy Hahn You can use VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH.

If you could post your VLOOKUP formula, with the referenced table, that would be helpful.

Here's the VLOOKUP structure.

=VLOOKUP(CellThatHaveTheValueToMatch@row,{RangeThatHaveTheValueToMatch*}, 
ColumnNumberWithTheValueYouWantToShow, 0)

*Where the first column is the ColumnWithTheValueToMatchAgainsTheCell
