Can I auto-populate base on role in Smartsheet and sync with Resource Management?

If my project is assigned to the resource base on ROLE, how can we auto-populate the assigned to in Smartsheet when we also need to sync with Resource Management?

For example: for Project A

Architect: A person, Project Manager: B person, Designer: C person

For the above, I can have Sheet B with Role and Name for this project. All the roles are predefined base on task. I just need to update the Role and Name in Sheet B and my project sheet will be updated accordingly.

I am also using Resource Management, but I find that I can't sync this Assigned2 column with Resource Management. We will have to manually assign the role for each task.

How can we auto-populate the assigned to in Smartsheet when we also need to sync with Resource Management?

There currently isn't a way to use a column formula in an Assigned To column and also have that column sync with Resource Management; the cells in that Assigned To column will need to be editable through the integration.

If you have access to DataMesh, I would potentially use DataMesh to bring in both your contacts and role into the second sheet, although this would require a new DataMesh workflow every time you have a new Sheet B.

    Cheers,

Thanks @Genevieve P. I think we do not need Data Mesh for this, just a sheet with the Names and Roles will do. Which means as of now, we will have to manually update the Assigned To so it can be sync with Resource Management.
