Is there a simple way to automate the "Export to Microsoft Excel" on a schedule?
I'd like to download the Excel versions of multiple Smartsheet sheets on a weekly basis to a location on my local machine. Is there a way to do this easily?

Hi @Charli35
There are three ways I know of. I suggest the easy way 1.😀
Method 1: Schedule backup
You get an email.
Pro: easy
Con: You have to download and open the zip manually. You have to create a workspace to specify the backup contents.
Method 2: Use the Java backup tool and create an automated task using Task Scheduler (windows case)
Pro: Automatic Backup in Excel format
Con: It isn't easy to set up and back up all the sheets in your account
Method 3: Use Smartsheet API
https://smartsheet.redoc.ly/tag/sheets#operation/getSheet
Pro: Automatic Backup in Excel format of specified sheets
Con: Difficult to setup

Hi @Charli35
I hope you're well and safe!
To add to Jmyzk's excellent advice/answer.
Another option would be to send it as an attachment on a schedule.
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic week!
