How to calculate different cell references + a different integer based on date?

Hi everyone, thanks for any help in advance. I'm kind of stuck here...
I hope this makes sense, but I'm trying to make an IF statement calculation that references different cells in my sheet, order date, cost minus fees multiplied by .02 or .05 depending on whether the order date was before or after 1/1/2024.
Essentially:
=IF([Order Date] < 1 / 1 / 2024, ([Cost]@row - [Fees]@row) * 0.02)
But if it's after 1/1/2024 * 0.05.
Is that possible?

Try this instead:
=(Cost@row - Fees@row) * IF([Order Date]@row < DATE(2024, 01, 01), 0.02, 0.05)
