Do unlicensed users send out mention email notifications?

I have invited co workers to use a smartsheet. I have the smartsheet license but they don't. When I mention them and they mention me, the email notifications come through.

When they mention each other, they don't receive an email. Does this have something to do with the licensing? Do unlicensed users have the capability of sending out emails via mention to other unlicensed users?

Jumping in here to clarify - Yes! Unlicensed free members shared on the same sheet can still @mention each other and receive email notifications from that @mention.

There is a limit to the number of automated emails a free member on a paid plan can send per day, but they should easily be able to @mention users as many as 50 - 100 messages per day without reaching this limit.

I would ask your users to check their junk or spam email folder in case the automations are getting filtered out by their email provider.
