Max/Collect column formula not working

I would like to make this a column formula. The formula shown in the picture doesn't evaluate new rows as they are added. If I try to update the formula to be

(=MAX(COLLECT([Your Bid]:[Your Bid],[Item # to Bid]:[Item # to Bid],[Item #]@Row)) or even (=MAX(COLLECT([Your Bid], [Item # to Bid],[Item #]@Row)) I get an UNPARSEABLE error.
