Making the Comment Field Required in the Approval Workflow
I know there is a default comment field in the approval workflow. Is there a way to make that field required if the status is "Denied" or just make it required for any status? If I added a Comment Field for Approvers, is there a way to make that field required if I add it with the brackets in the message? {{Approver Comments}}

I hope you're well and safe!
Unfortunately, it's not possible now, but it's an excellent idea!
Here's a possible workaround or workarounds
- Add a workflow that triggers an update request if it's declined and no comment is added.
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Have a fantastic week & Happy New Year!

It would work, but as with all of us, I would like to reduce the number of emails especially with the number of entries that will be coming in. The workaround causes additional emails and a split in the work for the end user/approver. I'd like to make the process as streamlined and consolidated as possible.
Other ideas I was thinking of and working through is a 2nd form using the URL Query String method or a dynamic report, but really like the "Accept/Decline" buttons and the streamlined process of viewing details of the request AND approve/deny all with one click of a button within the email notification. We would just like to collect data around why a request was denied.

Have you explored using the premium app, Dynamic View?
Is that an option?

Yes that's what I meant when I said Dynamic report. Sorry my lingo was off.

The problem with dynamic reports is the fact you have to "refresh" for the logic to work. Fields don't automatically appear as in forms.

No worries! I'll get back to the post if I think of something else.
