Transferring ownership of a workspace from employee no longer at company
Hi All,
Need a bit of help with this one here! :) One of the departmental PM's is no longer with the company and did not transfer any of the workspaces to team members. I am a system admin on our account. Is there a way I can transfer the workspaces she owned to me? I have already transferred all her owned items to me.
Thanks!

Hi @JalWatson
Based on the following help articles, I tested the following method.
- Deactivate the User (I wanted to reactivate the User, so I did not delete the User.)
- Transfer Owned Items
- Remove shares
- Reactive the User
In the 2. procedure, I could transfer items, including workspaces.
So, though I used the Deactivate method to reactivate the User, you can delete the User after the 2nd Transfer Onwned Items procedure.

- To take ownership of a workspace from somebody who is no longer available, their System Admin should delete them and transfer ownership of all their Smartsheet items to an active user. See Admin Center: Add, Edit, and Delete Individual users with User Management for more information. If needed, the new owner can then transfer ownership of the specific workspace to you.

Deactivate the User & transfer owned items.
New User gets items, including workspaces.
After deleting the share to the above second workspace, reactivate the User.
The reactivated User regained access to contents, including the workspaces, according to the permission before reactivation.
