Change calendar (column type: date) to years (not months)

Hi all,

Just a quick question - when using the column type 'date' in a sheet, is it possible to make the calendar which comes up for selecting the date in question a 'year' calendar rather than a 'month' calendar? Many people using the sheet/form will be inputting dates from about 50 years ago, so a calendar by month really isn't practical!

I know people can also free type the date, but was just wondering if the option of a calendar by year existed...
