IF HAS Formula to Return Email in Contact Field

Hi,

I have a sheet that includes a multiselect contact field with RA names (On-Site RA(s))and a second contact field (Manager).

When joesmith@email.com is one of the emails in the On-Site RA(s) field, I want maryjones@email.com returned in the Manager field.

I have added the IF HAS formula you see in the example in the Manager field, but it returns a blank field, not maryjones@email.com as I want to be returned.

What am I missing? Thanks for your help!

Can you provide a screenshot of the column properties for both On Site RA and Manager?

Thanks, I realized that I could do the same thing with an automation, so I've done that.

However, I'm still curious about what is wrong with the formula.

That's a good question! I used the same formula with columns using the same settings, and it worked. It's interesting that your contact columns don't have icons either.

Here's what mine looks like:

Another option for referencing managers is to use a reference sheet. We have a master list of team members and managers, and I reference it in many different sheets using index/match.

I have a reference sheet, so that was on option, but the formula suggestions that I found in the community didn't lead me in that direction. Honestly, the automation is much easier, in my opinion, than a formula.
